Oregon firefighters arrive in California, begin fighting Palisades FireLOS ANGELES, Cali. – 300 firefighters from Oregon have arrived in the Los Angeles area to assist with devastating wildfires that have already destroyed thousands of homes and killed at least 10 people.
According to the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office, the 15 strike teams from Oregon arrived on January 9, with 11 of those teams beginning firefighting operations on January 10.
The OSFM said 300 firefighters and 75 engines were deployed to the Los Angeles area, and will work alongside CAL Fire and other state and federal agencies to patrol for hot spots and control fire activity.
